At NAMS, we cater to adolescents from age 13. Youth tend to be impulsive and easily influenced by their peers. For these reasons, they are at risk of substance abuse, including binge drinking, inhalant addiction as well as addiction to gambling and excessive gaming or screen time problems.
We provide an integrated treatment service for adolescents struggling with substance and or behavioural addiction issues. The multi-disciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, counsellors and medical social workers will work with the young person and parents to address the concerns about their problem behaviour.
After an assessment by the psychiatrist for underlying psychiatric conditions, the adolescent client will receive counselling support to address the behaviour. The counsellor will also work closely with the school counsellor, probation officer (if any) and the family to consolidate the overall treatment.
For minors under 21 years of age, parental consent is needed for treatment at NAMS.
